Bella's Allergies

A lot has been going on in our home lately. Last week Bella had an allergic reaction to nuts and then we all got a stomach bug and Bella had flu symptoms. It took us a while to get over that junk, but luckily we are all well again.
Bella is our sensitive baby when it comes to allergies. She is allergic to Penicillin, milk, and nuts. Well, last week I was preparing a snack for Ander and Bella and had just recieved a sample of Nutella. If you've never tried Nutella it's delicious. It's made with hazelnuts and chocolate. Yummy. So I spread it on some crackers and gave it to them. They loved it!
Well, as I said earlier Bella is allergic to nuts. I already knew that...just had a brain fart. So after eating about 3 crackers, she gets down from her chair, comes to me and says her face hurts. To my surprise, poor Bella had a swollen lip :( and her breathing was becoming raspy. It was really scary. This was the worst reactin she's had from nuts. Usually she just breaks out in a small rash around her mouth. I gave her some Benadryl but she didn't get any better, and was actually getting worse. So naturally I call my on-call doctor Rita ;) and she told me to take her imediately to her doctor (the one that's actually in the state of SC). Since she's never had such a severe reaction like this, we didn't have an epipen. I called Mom and she met me at the doctors office and distracted Ander while the doctor and nurses took care of Bella. Mom is awesome!! They gave Bella 2 shots, one of a steroid and the other, epipen. Then they gave her an albuterol treatment. Bella was such a good sport during all of it. Sitting quitely while the doctor and nurses listened to her breathing and only cried a little bit after her shots. And Ander was very patient. Mom was a lifesaver and it made me feel better to have her there to comfort and help. Nothing really seemed to faze Bella, we read books while we waited for the medicine to kick in and she would say now and then "my lip swollen". I took it pretty hard, and cried a lot. Needless to say, I do not have any Nutella in the house, and we do Not accidently give her nuts Anymore. And I have an epipen. 2 actually. And that makes me feel better.
Here are some pictures of Bella's swollen lip
Talking on the phone to Aunt Rita.
"Does she sound raspy to you???"
